Description
The Pommel Horse and Parallel Bars pose particular problems in terms of mat safety. The stability of this equipment is dependent on its heavy steel bases. However, during leg swings and dismounts, the gymnast's legs and feet are vulnerable to injury because of close proximity to the steel bases. Our fitted apparatus mats offer identical protection to that found in our competition landing mats, polyurethane and polyethylene hardside/softside construction covered in 18 oz. PVC coated vinyl. The Pommel Horse Mat is manufactured in two sections, held together with Velcro. The Parallel Bar Mat is manufactured in 5 sections, all joined with Velcro. All protruding parts on the steel bases are protected and a center base mat completely covers the gym floor between the bases. Removable cutouts at both ends of the Bars allow for springboard placement.
